“For many years we struggled to get a reliable internet connection; the satellite connection we used to have was constantly dropping; streaming and uploading any data was really difficult,” said Tess Roebuck, Infrastructure Specialist for Inntravel, a company based close to Castle Howard in North Yorkshire that specialises in ‘Slow’ holidays.
Thanks to a dedicated point-to-point link into the company’s site installed by Boundless Networks it now enjoys reliable 50 Mbps broadband and staff are able to stream and upload.
“Boundless has been really helpful in finding a solution for us,” said Tess.
“We coped with sluggish downloads and intermittent connection problems previously, but now it is far more reliable and staff can get the information they need a lot quicker.
“We are two miles from the nearest exchange and there is no direct line from there. We were previously using a satellite connection and back-up ADSL lines but there were not satisfactory. We are more efficient and staff are much happier now with the Boundless solution.”
Sam Hayhurst, Boundless Networks’ Head of Customer Operations, said: “We worked hard to find a solution to get Inntravel connected. As an agile provider we extended our local Gigabit fibre via high speed wireless microwave equipment. Supplying them with a dedicated and symmetric broadband connection into their very rural site, with added capacity to futureproof their business. It was great to be able to deliver fast, reliable broadband to this site and demonstrate how Boundless Networks provides a different kind of broadband with reach, speed and service in locations other networks won’t go.”
Inntravel, which was established in 1984, is recognised as one of the UK’s leading specialist tour operators.
